The futuristic style of dancing with ropes in a "space disco" would reappear in another series created by Glen A. Larson, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979), specifically the first-season episode "Cruise Ship to the Stars".
Though it is never seen in the episode, what Apollo and Starbuck see inside the wrecked ship on the red planet is a clove and hoof as revealed by Glen A. Larson in the DVD Extras. Apparently it was filmed, but ABC did not allow it to be seen in the episode.
A popular theory that is still debated, is that the crashed ship on the red planet was actually the Battlestar Pegasus. And what Apollo and Starbuck found in the wreckage was the remains of Admiral Cain. The Battlestar Galactica Maximum Press Comic series that continued the shows story. Would see Iblis return and teleports Sheba back to the planet and reveal to her Cain's body. This however was revealed to be an illusion.
In the Battlestar Galactica Vol. 1 #4 of Maximum Press comics. Apollo would give an alternate account of what he, Starbuck and Sheba encountered in the wreckage on the red planet. Entering it, they would see a leg protruding from a scorched metal surface, but with a cloven hoof foot. This was adapted from the earlier script draft, where they lifted the metal sheet, and saw the scorched remains of a demon/devil.
