Who done it?

Maria is found dead by Clay Culhane when they are on a search party for her. She was hung and the rope was tied in a unique knot. Because of evidence found, the finger is pointed at Tom Brandon. Clay tries to locate him, but his brother claims to not know where he is. He shows up at the funeral and is quickly arrested for her murder.

That's only part of the story though. Because everyone liked Maria, Clay knows Tom won't get a fair trial in Latigo. He receives a request for venue and assists Marshal Scott in taking him to Santa Fe. They know trouble waits on the road since Carla Doyle promised to hang Tom whatever it took.

This was a suspenseful episode. It is not clear who has murdered Maria until the very end, and the dramatic results are even more interesting. Law in the TV west is a a lot different from law today. There are a lot of grey areas, and we see them in this episode.

Two dead, one injured.
