Bullying ones way through life

Billy feels less human because he's a pig farmer. The gentle man his father is of course does not agree. Those punk ass thugs he hangs around with are just that. Thugs.

I can relate to his point of view and depth of feeling. Hoss, the gentle giant and beautiful human being he is, offers support and build his character by helping him raise a bull. Those ten cent tough boys he hangs in with are cattle restlers steeling ponderosa cattle. Billy saved hosses life from the leader all of his boys are sneering weakling who act tough (it's painful to see this) . Receives warnings from the "gang" about his participating in the raids or lack of.

Anyway, there is a fair in town hoss and joe are there with Billy and his father, having fun until the gang shows up. In the barn thugs start threatening the old man proving their manliness big shot takes out his knife tries to attack the bull and main it dad stops them but the boys decide to beat on him Billy arrives helps, hoss is the one who helps save the day. The gang called Billy pig pen (last name is penn) for the last time they end up in the mud with all the other pigs getting the .... beat out of them. The sheriff then takes the ten cent boys off where they belong behind bars. Billy tells his father pig farming is the best. What a great moral to the story; there is no inferior job and what we do with our lives matters, as well as to others. (I love bacon!!!!! And give me a honey ham anyday!"

This Bonanza episode has Royal Dano and Tim Considine as a father and son who run a neighboring hog farm next to the Ponderosa. Dano is a hard and bitter man since the Civil War and a whole lot of people look down on them. Young Considine has taken to being an outlaw wannabe with a gang of rustlers led by Keith London.

Dan Blocker goes in for a little juvenile rehabilitation having young Considine work on grooming the Cartwright prize bull that they intend to enter at the county fair. But can he get out from under his father and away from the outlaws.

Some good scenes with Blocker and Considine and Dano and Considine are prominent in this Bonanza story. Nice story of good family values.
