The guys who played live music for the anniversary party are actually The Monkees, and the man who offered to be their manager during the end credits was the band manager on The Partridge Family.
In this episode, Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork, and Davey Jones appear on stage together and sing "My Girl" for Cory's mom and dad during their anniversary/rave party.
Three of the four Monkees appear in this this episode, including Peter Tork, who makes his second of two appearances as Topanga's father. The character will later be played by two different actors.
While Peter Tork, Davy Jones, and Micky Dolenz agreed to guest spots, Michael Nesmith did not. Nesmith, however, was actually on the set during the episode's filming to discuss reunion and touring plans with the other members and for a photo shoot to promote Monkees trading cards and a VHS boxed set of the series. Despite the producers' best efforts to entice Nesmith to appear on the show, he declined. Consequently, ABC refused to promote Tork, Jones, and Dolenz's guest appearances in their on-air advertising unless all four Monkees appeared.
