This is an interesting diverting two parter. It focusses on Budgie's family.
As always Budgie is in cahoots with someone over a scam. Budgie will rob some jewellery from past her prime singer Lady Maisie's house. She will then make a claim from her insurer and then split the money with Budgie. I doubt Budgie will get much out of it.
Later Lady Maisie has a tiff with a busker outside a theatre. She claims the violinist is in her spot and tells him to push off.
The busker is Jack Bird. Budgie's dad who has left home after an argument over some streaky bacon.
Now Budgie wants his dad to stay for the night as Hazel's place only for Jack to insult her even though he has never met her before.
It is everyone back at the Budgie household. Only for Budgie to discover his sister in bed with her fiance, drippy Tony.
It is hard to believe that Budgie might just be the most normal person in his family. Dad's a decent fiddler, but a boorish drunk. I think he was lucky that Hazel did not wallop him.
I was surprised that the episode suddenly ended only to realise this was a two parter. It rounds off Budgie's character somewhat. At least his mother and sister are well meaning.
