When the two men in the car are tailing Cory in the blue truck, Cory stops in a lot and the car is shown driving past the lot. In the subsequent scene, the car is parked across from the lot.
During the first stolen truck pursuit, the background changes from an urban road with cars parked on the side to an industrial one with a no cars parked and then back to the urban road with parked cars.
The headlights of Clark's police car are on during the pursuit and off when she arrives at the first crash despite her overhead red and blue lights and siren being on.
When Cory parks the ice cream truck outside the restaurant the only vehicle behind it is a large blue flatbed truck. As the scene changes and he is walking into the restaurant a black van is now parked behind the ice cream truck.
When Cory talks to Baker and Poncherello he says he lost his star (left the CHP implying his arrest and conviction) 6 years ago. When Cory talks to his ex-wife he tells her it was 5 years ago.
Cory tells his wife that it was his decision to have her lie to their son 5 years ago, not that he was convicted 5 years ago. Cory may have thought up the dead-father scheme while in jail, so he could have been convicted 6 years prior and come up with the scheme the following year.

The same green Chevrolet sedan spins out at three different intersections during the pursuit of the 1972 Plymouth, indicating it was reused.
In the first crash caused by the stolen truck, the ramp behind the blue large sedan is clearly shown. The blue car has a modified rear end and roof line (known as a fastback) to facilitate the second car jumping it. Part of the modified roof is seen falling off after the crash.
After the orange VW is hit and begins to roll downhill, the owner is shown jumping onto the running board. The road ahead is shown to level out and then go uphill, so the extended downhill sequence shown was impossible.
In the slow-motion shot of the car jumping in the opening wreck, the driver of the car is clearly wearing a black safety harness and a crash helmet.
When Ponch opens the door of the red VW he is in, the crew can be seen reflected on the door.
Several radio errors are spoken:
When Clark responds to the stolen truck alert, she says "LA 15 on National from Pico". She fails to ID her unit, which is 7 Charles.
Despite using the proper "15" frequency designator earlier at the crash, when Cory calls in the bogus truck sighting, he says "LA 79 this is Mary 12". The 79 indicates he is on the "Pink" West LA CHP frequency although he is transmitting on the "Black" Central CHP frequency. Additionally he does not fully identify his unit, as there would be a number prior to the Mary 12.
While it would be possible to buy and use a two-way radio on the CHP frequency, Cory's first diversionary call is clearly his voice and contains several errors, such as the wrong frequency designator (79 instead of 15). His voice would be recognizable by both Baker and Poncherello who had recently spoken to him, and the dispatcher would question the improper frequency use. The end result would be that his diversionary tactic would fail.
Clark reports the pursuit of the flatbed truck and that it may be stolen. Proper procedure would be to overtake the truck and call in the license plate so the theft could be confirmed.
Ostensibly, Tommy, Jr., doesn't recognize his father because he doesn't remember seeing him (his mother has led him to believe that his father was a law-enforcement officer who died in the line of duty when Tommy, Jr., was quite young), yet Tommy would have seen photographs of his dead father and recognized him from those.
