Explosive Episode
Hitchcoc30 January 2021
The characters in this episode are pieces of work. A man is washed down a sewer drain which leads to some interesting discoveries. Investigation leads to a house where neighbors have seen the owner and his son playing with high powered fireworks, throwing them down the drains. Soon there is a warrant to look for blood in this house because a teenager had gone missing some time before. This is a really good episode that calls for some serious work by the CSI's. On a separate note, Sara seems to be acting in a dangerous way, not just affecting herself but her colleagues and the public.

Good episode based on a real case

I found this episode well thought out when I first saw it and in a few subsequent viewings.

It was just recently that I found this episode VERY closely follows the facts of a real case profiled by the Investigate Discovery show Solved, Season 3, Episode 4, "The Bully" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1693511/)

They do depart from the "real" story in a few ways but it is a fairly faithful portrayal of a real case with really messed up individuals and I believe the real and make believe versions both do a very good job of painting the picture and revealing the depths of human depravity and just how dysfunctional and delusional some people really are..

Two Interesting Cases

When a corpse is found in a storm drain gate, Grissom, Warrick and Catherine investigate the case. Warrick and Catherine follow the storm drain and find that the victim is the lifeguard Calvin Berkowitz and they believe he died "surfing" during the rainstorm. When they leave the place, a sewage worker shows some bones they have found while working. Soon they learn that other bones were found in the sewage drain and try to find the point of origin, while they also research the missing persons database. Capt. Brass talks to a resident of the neighborhood and he complains of a bully teenager, Owen Durbin. Soon his family becomes the prime suspect of the case.

"Down the Drain" is an episode of "CSI" with two interesting cases. The first one is rapidly resolved by Catherine and Warrick. The second case involves the entire team and is also well-resolved. My vote is eight.

Great plot and development

Warning: Spoilers
Down the drain deserves a lot of admiration, because of what shows. The search of a body being drowned in a huge water channel takes the CSI team to the found of some little human bones in a small drain in a residential area of Las Vegas.

What happened? Easy, the most loath-able and spit-table family of the entire world (the squirmy father, the son of a ***** kid, the stupid mother) all guilty not just for murder but for put in danger the neighborhood. In one point Brass says "are you like Timothy McBaine?" what reminds of Bowling for Columbine. So you know the way I am going with this.

Great episode for performance and plot, I repeat myself, it deserves all admirations.
