Timothy Dalton's character, millionaire playboy Damien Roth, is described by Charlie as being "a man with James Bond-ian tastes, means, and charm". Dalton later portrayed Bond in The Living Daylights (1987) and Licence to Kill (1989). In The Living Daylights, Belle Avery's character complains that she is bored with millionaire playboys and wants to meet a real man; enter Dalton's Bond.
