Peggy De Castro, eldest member of the De Castro sisters
kevinolzak22 July 2016
"A Minority of One" opens with Della a member of the Barrio Better Business Bureau, imploring Ed to join despite his being 'a minority of one,' the last remaining white man in the neighborhood. Doctor Spanola (Julio Medina, last of three) is among those present at the latest meeting, and after several minutes of arguing Ed storms out, only to learn that he was elected union president in his absence. Trying to learn Spanish as new El Presidente proves harder for Ed than for Chico! As Mrs. Toro, greeted by Ed with Charo's 'coochy coochy,' is Peggy DeCastro, eldest of the three DeCastro sisters, their biggest hit from 1955 "Teach Me Tonight." Ed flatters her enough with a bargain on a set of tires that she responds with a very Charo-like greeting of her own, though Chico tries to spoil his fun by pointing out that she's a married senora, not a young senorita: "you teach me Spanish, and I'll teach you how to sell tires!"
