Winnifred's henchmen are named Bud and Lou, after the comedy duo Abbott & Costello.
Final series appearance of voice actress Deborah Walley. Walley lent her voice talents to the show five times, notably voicing several iconic Rescue Rangers guest stars like Gadget's Hawaiian doppelgänger, Lahwhinie, and Foxglove from this episode.
The romantic film Chip takes Gadget to at the drive-in appears to be a colorized version of Casablanca (1942). The love scene in the beginning appears to feature Rick in his trademark white tuxedo and Ilsa in her famous hat. The final scene shown appears to show Captain Louis in his gendarme uniform.
While it predates the release of the film by some years, there are several similarities between this episode and the cult-classic family film, Hocus Pocus (1993). In this episode, the main antagonist is a red-headed witch named Winnifred who uses a vacuum cleaner as a flying instrument, rather than a broom. Her main focus in the show is acquiring ingredients for a witch's brew. Similarly, in Hocus Pocus, the main antagonist is a red-headed witch named Winifred and her sisters, one of whom flies on a vacuum cleaner. Also, Winifred and her sisters spend the film trying to acquire ingredients for a witch's brew.
At the beginning when the Rangers are at the drive-in theater,Chip tells Gadget when they are sitting next to each at the front of the Ranger Wing that he has something he would like to tell her,his expression suggesting that he wants to tell her of his feelings for her,and possibly ask her out. This has been a recurring thing throughout the series, both Chip and Dale being attracted to Gadget and constantly fighting for her affection. Chip is then cut off by Dale blowing his bubble gum toward him and Gadget just as he is about to say whatever he is about to say. In the last scene he meets Gadget outside while she is working on the Ranger Wing and then attempts to say whatever he tried to say to her at the beginning, only to be suddenly swiped away by Dale on a hangglider, cut off once again right when Chip was about to get whatever he wanted to say out. The implication from most viewers is most likely that Chip was about to profess his feelings for Gadget and the fact that he gets abruptly interrupted or cut off by Dale every time he makes an attempt can mean a couple of things, that either Dale would always hear Chip getting ready to tell Gadget how he felt about her and he deliberately did something to cut in every time he would try to keep him from asking Gadget out and possibly losing his chance of ever having her,or it could also be interpreted that it was never meant to be that Gadget wouid be romantically involved with Chip or Dale or any of the Rangers, that her relationship with them was strictly platonic and part of their partnership.
