The circus has a new shooting act he Masked Marvel. Corky likes him but Pete can't figure out why he wears a mask. Big Tim figures it's Billy's gimmick. But Billy's act is popular and things are fine until Matt sees the act and reports to Earl. Earl says only one man can shoot as well as he can.
Corky likes to clean Billy's guns so they strike a bargain: Corky will teach Billy geography, and Billy will teach Corky about guns. Earl and Matt enter Billy's wagon. Billy is Earl's baby brother. Earl and Matt want to rob the circus, but Billy wants no part of his brother.
Matt rides in and says Earl tried a robbery and got hurt and needs his brother. Billy rides off with Matt but his brother isn't hurt. Earl wants Billy to help rob the circus but Billy refuses. Matt knocks Billy out and Earl dresses as his brother.
When Corky tries to grab Billy's hand, Earl knocks it away. Corky knows that can't be Billy because this guy isn't wearing a wrist strap which Billy needs or he can't shoot. The sheriff stops by to watch but "Billy" walks away before doing the butterfly trick. "Billy" and Matt rob Tim and Billy is getting the blame.
Before Tim and his man can take off, the sheriff arrives and gives Tim a hard time. Corky shows up with Billy's wrist band and mentions Scotty's shack. With some evidence, the sheriff takes off looking for the thieves and corners everyone in the shack. Earl and Matt are captured and Billy can rejoin the circus.
