Sue Randall is best known playing Beaver's teacher. Here she's the object of affection of a trail worker, who's lacking money. Romance and cards make for a good movie. It's a wonder anything good came out of playing poker. It's not enough to want to switch from learning Pinochle for fun. Still, this is an episode with some whimsy. I'm amazed this series didn't get better ratings. Especially hard to figure out since it lasted 18 seasons. I'm glad it stayed with the half hour format. A TV book says it was only on in syndication. This show deserved a larger audience. It's been a staple in reruns. And I'm glad Grit is showing it. TV programs with good lessons and are clean provide much needed quality.
