- Greg injures himself whilst having sex with Dharma and ends up at the doctor. Dharma, being her usual self, is overly open about the experience with everyone making Greg uncomfortable. Then at the pharmacy getting Greg's medication, they run into an ex-boyfriend of Dharma', Scott, who is ironically purchasing a large packet of condoms. Things become more uncomfortable for Greg as Scott rents a place in their building.—natalichka
- Dharma runs into an old boyfriend, Scott (Jason Beghe), whose endless, high-flown tales of jet setting sound more and more like flights of fancy. Scott claims that he is a professional tennis player and travels the world a lot. Scott travels to Afghanistan, has an apartment in Beijing, where he claims to teach table tennis to the Chinese. Dharma invites him to rent an apartment in their building, on their floor. Scott spends a lot of time at Dharma's place and narrates stories of how he used cat gut to repair a string on YoYo Ma's guitar, at a private concert for the Sultan of Brunei.
Scott is good friends with Abby and Larry and also used to work for Greenpeace. This one time, Scott put his dinghy right between a Japanese fishing boat and a poor defenseless whale. He gave up Greenpeace when the Japanese put a price on his head. Greg calls Scott a complete fraud. Greg says that Scott is not on the list of any professional player ranking system in tennis, anywhere in the world.
Greg is jealous & spies on him. Greg thinks Scott is borrowing stories from a spy-based sitcom from the 60's.
Meanwhile, Greg's hernia becomes a popular topic for discussion. Dharma goes around telling everybody that Greg got the hernia while trying to lift Dharma in the shower to have sex on "Monkey Love" Monday. The doctor has prohibited sex or golf, even when Dharma offers to be on top and do all the work herself, and even after Greg offers to use a Caddy. Dharma narrates the whole story to the pharmacist as well.
Greg keeps aggravating his hernia to "keep up" with Scott, who seems to be having rigorous sex in his apartment every night with a new bombshell. Scott has gone through 2 dozen condoms that he bought at a pharmacy less than a week ago. Dharma tries to distract Greg by playing a cheese naming game, but Greg feels the need to compete with Scott and ends up going back to the Doctor's again. Due to the constant parade of girls, Dharma wonders if Scott was cheating on her while they were together.
Greg wants to learn the truth about Scott and takes Pete with him to break into Scott's apartment. Dharma learns that Scott lied to her when he said that his wife died in a boating accident, since he told his current girlfriend that she died in a skiing accident. Dharma had connected with Scott's current girlfriend and were exchanging stories in Scott's apartment, while Greg and Pete were hiding in Scott's closet. Greg pulls his hernia again while trying to prevent Pete from falling down and making a loud noise and being discovered by Dharma and Scott's current girlfriend.
Dharma and Greg confront Scott in their apartment and ask him to reveal the truth. Turns out Scott is a spy with the CIA & is reassigned away from San Francisco. He has that as part of his job, he assumes a cover story that dismisses him as a liar, allowing him to continue his real work as an undercover operative. A helicopter comes to pick Scott up confirming that he is from the CIA.
