Why does Laura hide every time the insurance man comes to the house?!?!
planktonrules8 December 2023
When the show begins, Rob is meeting with his insurance agent at the house. Oddly, when it's time for Laura to join them and sign the form, she's vanished. And, perhaps coincidentally, this seems to happen every time the agent shows up with something for her to sign! What gives?! And, when Rob later confronts her about this, she refuses to explain her actions and acts as if HE is somehow at fault...and Rob is genuinely confused. So why....why would she do this? Obviously Laura is hiding something...but what?! Why all the lies?!

Why Laura was lying was pretty funny as well as its implications. Like so many episodes of the show, this episode is very creative and unique...and well worth seeing.

Silly

Warning: Spoilers
This episode has a lot of holes. She's already had a baby, so she's obviously been to a doctor before, and she would have had to verify her age at some point. She had to have a birth certificate to get a driver's license; has no one ever seen her license? They must have gotten married in the 1950's. And I find it hard to believe a birth certificate would not have been required to get married. Also, Rob says the state they got married in requires an accurate marriage license to be legal (I can't remember exactly what he said) so I find it hard to believe they would not have required a birth certificate to verify age. And wasn't she a dancer in the USO? Did they take underage kids? Where were her parents? Wouldn't they have objected or at least mentioned the fact that she was only 17? This episode just doesn't hold up at all.

Laura Petrie's selfishness/vanity isn't a good look...

Warning: Spoilers
My heavens, what a bunch of baloney ! Selfish Laura goes to ridiculous lengths to avoid seeing an insurance man. She actually sneaks out of the house for several hours to avoid meeting with this insurance man when he comes to see her and Rob. Her excuses are weak,so a suspicious Rob slowly figures out what the problem is.

Laura Petrie's behavior is ridiculous, and any normal husband would get to the bottom of this nonsense a lot quicker than Rob did,I promise you.

As much as it pains me to say it,all in all it is a lame episode that makes the Petries look like dorks.

Dear reader, you are under no obligation to read any further. For some reason, all of a sudden, there is a rule that requires 600 words in a review/commentary. This seems rather arbitrary and silly,as I see nothing wrong with a shorter review if it provides an honest opinion.

As soon as we get comfortable with how the system works,it is changed. Change is unavoidable, constant and continuous it seems.🤡
