• Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman : [Michaela sees Brian sitting outside the clinic on the bench with his returned dinosaur bone that his father gave him and joins Brian on the bench]  A penny for your thoughts.

  Brian Cooper : [Brian sighs]  I was just thinking. Howcome it's alright to dig up old dinosaur bones, but not old people bones?

  Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman : [Michaela sighs]  Oh, Cloud Dancing says the Cheyenne believe, that if their dead are taken care of with respect, then their spirits can travel the Hanging Road to their camp in the stars.

  Brian Cooper : The Hanging Road? Is that like heaven?

  Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman : Yes, I believe it is.

  Brian Cooper : Do dinosaurs have spirits?

  Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman : The Cheyenne believe that everything has a spirit.

  Brian Cooper : Then why do we dig 'em up?

  Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman : Well, maybe because there are none of their kind left to protect them.

  Brian Cooper : Matthew and Colleen don't believe this is a real dinosaur bone. They think pa lied.

  Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman : May I?

  [Brian hands over the dinosaur bone. Michaela takes and inspects the bone] 

  Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman : Do you think your father wanted to give you something as special as a dinosaur bone?

  Brian Cooper : Yeah, I do.

  Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman : [Michaela gives back the dinosaur bone]  Then why does it matter whether it's real or not?

  [Brian smiles and hugs Michaela, holding tight to the bone] 

• Cloud Dancing : [At the meeting place Sully takes the chest with the old bones of the Indian that was taken by John Porter, of the wagon and hands it over to Loren. Loren carries it to Cloud Dancing escorted by Sully and puts the chest down in front of Cloud Dancing]  Your wife has already been returned to your burial ground. The Dog Soldiers gave me their word that she was always treated with reverence.

  Loren Bray : [Loren nods gratefully]  Thank you.

  [Loren sighs relieved] 

  Loren Bray : Well, I think we both did some convincing eh?

  Cloud Dancing : You're a courageous and honourable man.

  [Loren nods, smiles and walks back with Sully] 

  Brian Cooper : [Cloud Dancing picks up the chest to carry it away and Brian calls]  Cloud Dancing!

  [Cloud Dancing stops and turns around. Brian gets off the wagon, runs towards Cloud Dancing while taking the dinosaur bone out of his bag. Brian reaches the bone towards the chest and puts it on top of it. Cloud Dancing looks down on the bone] 

  Brian Cooper : There's none of his kind left to take care of him. Maybe if you put him with your ancestors, he can find his way to the camp in the stars too.

  [Cloud Dancing looks at Brian, then at Sully, back to Brian and gives Brian an appreciative nod. Brian walks towards Sully who puts an arm around him. All watch while Cloud Dancing walks away with the remains in the chest]
