The mercs pull their car diagonally across the road in front of the Duke Boys, with the car's passenger's-side front fender almost at the edge of the gravel. Yet when the Dukes floor it out of there and pass the merc's car on the passenger's side, there is plenty of road-width on the right-hand side of the car for them to pass, with just a little bit of the dirt shoulder that they have to drive over with their right wheels.
The Dukes smash Cooter's car through the door of the mercs' car and tear it clean off. yet when the mercs speed away after them, there is no detached door lying on or beside the roadway.
Right after the bad guys catch up to Bo, Luke, and Mary Kaye, Luke jumps in the driver's seat of the General, and Bo is in the backseat. Shortly after, Bo climbs into the front seat, but Luke is still driving. The view switches to one inside of the car, and Bo is now driving. They switch cameras back to the outside, and Luke is driving once more.
The mercs' car has its front passenger door missing, yet when they get out of the car when Mary Kaye is about to have her baby, both doors are seen and heard to be present and operated.
Cooter's car is audibly running (and visibly emitting exhaust vapor from the back) in the wide-angle shot where the mercs pull up and run back toward the car, yet in the subsequent close-up shot of them surrounding the car and pointing their pistols, there is no sound of an idling engine nor visible exhaust rising up from behind the car.
When the bad guy gets shot by Rosco you hear him say "My toe! You shot my toe!" But he is shown grabbing his knee.
When Enos handcuffs Leo to the Duke's porch, Leo is putting weight on his left leg which is supposed to have been the one shot.
Cooter's car does not move at all when the driver floors it; he hits and knocks back the merc standing next to him by forcibly shoving the car door against him, and only after that does the car spin gravel and blast out of there.
When Cooter's car breaks down Luke removes the air filter cover twice.
Cooter's car was clearly not running when the mercs were holding its occupants at gunpoint, and there is no sound of the noisy souped-up engine either idling while the mercs are talking to the Dukes and M.K., nor do we hear it revving at all when the driver surreptitiously floors the gas.
