Ray, Robert and Frank visit the Psychiatrist....Supposedly! Warning: Spoilers
Robert is seeing Dr. Greenberg, a Psychiatrist. A fight breaks out between Raymond and Robert. Marie says that Cousin Bella is a top Psychiatrist and wants her to come see Raymond. More discussion ensues, and finally Raymond and Frank both agree to go see Dr. Greenberg with Robert. They get to the hall outside the doctor's office and Robert comments that Dr. Greenberg has a lazy eye and you can never tell which one is watching you. Frank says he is not going in. He has $100 and 2 free hours. All three decide to go to the horse track together when they see that one of the horses is named "Marie's Mouth." They decide this is an omen. The guys all come back home very happy. Debra is very happy that they all went to see the shrink. Frank tells Marie that Dr. Greenberg advises him to have a ten-foot radius "Cone of Silence." After 5 weeks of therapy, the guys are up $1,400 in their betting and they have never seen the shrink. But they have been doing some meaningful talking about themselves. They talk about Frank's father and Frank said that his father beat him and called him a Monkey's Ass. He says the boys should not have taken his abuse when they were kids personally. He said that Grandfather Sal made Mussolini wet himself, he was so bad. Frank said that he never hit Raymond or Robert when they were kids, and they realize that maybe Frank was not as bad as they thought. Back at home, the girls are waiting for the guys to come home, and Marie brings forth a newspaper which reveals that Dr. Greenberg had died last week. The guys come home, all happy from a successful day at the track, and they brag about how much Dr. Greenberg is helping them. Marie shows Ray the newspaper. Lies! All lies! Ray starts to babble about going to church, and talking pigs who lie, and Frank says he is not saying anything about it, and Robert confesses they have been going to the track, and Ray shouts, "Are you an imbecile?" Frank says he is glad he did it. Debra says, "This is dirty happiness." Ray tells how the two brothers bonded with their father, and they feel good about everything except the dead Doctor part. Debra says she is going to give Ray a ten-foot radius. Cousin Bella shows up, and she tells Frank he has a fear of intimacy. She advises him to listen to Marie.

"Doctor" Greenburg or "Licensed Clinical Social Worker" Greenburg? Which is he? He's referred to as "Doctor". His office door indicates he is an "LCSW".

Peter Boyle shines in this series 9 episode
studioAT6 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
One of the few episodes in the 9th and final series to really feature the ill Peter Boyle in a central capacity, this is also one of the highlights of the series.

The boys actually do get to know more about each other and talk through their issues, they just do it in an unorthodox way. But it makes for some great comedy and actually some nice heartfelt moments.

Although some of the episodes in the final series weren't as high a standard as in previous years, there is still a lot to like about the show, with episodes like this being a fine example. We all still loved Raymond at this late stage.
