Just a little word
dgrv7518 October 2009
The Farscape series start in a very deceiving way : everything looks cheap, the action takes place inside a ship that looks more like a medieval castle. But as you get acquainted with the characters, as more of them come in the light, things start getting more serious, deeper, more powerful and more real. Every character gains richness little by little.

Just a little word about this episode, which is the best i've seen so far. Amazingly rich, dense, in the direct continuity of the "Nerve" episode, these are forty minutes you will remember. Some of the best characters of the series (Scorpius, his assistant, other characters we already know...) in a brilliantly written and not so cheesy screenplay. The quality of the screenplay is a direct consequence of the double episode aspect of this story line. Besides, there is quite a lot of action, and i even cried... for the first time in this series.

To sum it all up, a great episode, that takes hold of you and doesn't let go !

Crichton is rescued and Moya gives birth
Tweekums20 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Following on from the previous episode, Crichton is still a captive of the sinister Scorpius and he is going to be put in the dreaded Aurora chair until he spills the last piece of information he is holding on to. Scorpius thinks it is wormhole technology; in fact it is his time with Gilina. She has come up with a solution though; somehow she has sabotaged the chair so that when he accesses those memories it will show a false memory of him giving the technology to Crais; this buys Crichton some time and puts Crais in the chair. It could be just the time he needs as Aeryn, D'Argo and Zhaan turn up to mount a rescue. Aeryn enters the base but even after she finds Crichton it won't be easy for them all to get away. If that wasn't excitement enough for one episode; Moya is giving birth and matters are complicated by the fact her offspring isn't like other Leviathans; he is armed.

This was a great conclusion to the two part story; things have definitely turned much darker here; the torture scenes are fairly gruelling and Aeryn is positively sadistic when she finds Crais alone in the Aurora chair! The rescue was one of the most exciting moments in the series so far and culminated in a genuinely tear-jerking moment. Things back on Moya were interesting too; the nature of her off spring will no doubt be important for a long time to come. The acting from the main cast was as solid as always; Ben Browder did a great job; it really looked like he was in agony while he was being tortured. Guest star Alyssa-Jane Cook was a delight as Gilina; it is just a shame that we won't be seeing any more of her character. After this episode I'm looking forward to seeing if the series remains this dark; I like the darker tone but wouldn't mind some more light hearted episodes.
