The Golda Meir joke is recycled from The Golden Girls episode "Fiddler on the Ropes" (Season 4, Ep. 18), where Sophia tells a similarly fanciful story to Dorothy. In Sophia's story, the fictional Oscar Meir is her husband; in Frasier's he is her son.
Roz and Daphne only appear in the teaser and are not seen nor mentioned after this.
The scene 5 title card, "Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts," is a play on the Latin phrase "Beware of Greeks Bearing Gifts," which comes from Virgil's Aeneid. It's spoken by Trojan priest Laocoon and refers to the Trojan Horse used by the Greeks during the Trojan War.
This the first time that Frasier is seen returning to Boston since Cheers. He mentions going there during a previous episode.
