- Waitress: May I help you?
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Yeah give me a hamburger and a cup of coffee.
- Waitress: Roast beef's better.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Huh? Oh, hamburger's fine.
- Waitress: It's been sitting around four days already.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Oh. How about the roast beef?
- Waitress: Good idea.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: [nods] Yeah.
- Narrator: [Opening Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble, leading two horses, as he works on a ranch] A temporary joy in the peaceful meadows of the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Calling himself Russell Jordan, Richard Kimble has had a rare chance to relax, to catch his breath, at least for a few days.
- Narrator: [Epilog Closing Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble, having again escaped, walking down the streets of a small city, trying to lose himself in the crowd] No real menace to any one but himself. That's the way it must be for Richard Kimble, still alone and hunted. Even the good he might do is unable to balance the scales of justice which have made him, and keep him, a Fugitive.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: He's done the one murder he'll probably ever do. Until I find him, and I will, he's no real menace, to anyone but himself.
- Arthur Brame: You new around here, Lieutenant? I thought I knew all the local cops.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: I'm an Indiana cop.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Why can't you take me at face value?
- Sharon Brame: Oh! Honest Sam. The good guy. That's the smartest con of all.
- Arthur Brame: You saved my life! I don't forget something like that. Maybe it's honor, or whatever you want to call it, but I owe you. And one way or another, I'll pay you.
- Foreman Clark: He wanted me to tell you to slow down. The cop that's after you; you don't have to worry about him anymore.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: What does that mean?
- Foreman Clark: Well, he's being taken care of.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: How?
- Foreman Clark: What difference does that make?
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Well, it makes a lot of difference. I want to know. Unless of course he doesn't trust you with that information.
- Sharon Brame: Back there, you had a choice. Arthur, or the one you've been chasing.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: That's right.
- Sharon Brame: Why? Why couldn't it have been the other one?
- Lt. Philip Gerard: I wanted both of them. But one of them is a killer. He'd killed before and if he had gotten away, he'd have killed again. The other one, Kimble. He's done the one murder he'll probably ever do. Until I find him, and I will, he's no real menace, to anyone but himself.
- Sharon Brame: Honest Sam.
