Marion Grove, friend of Inspector Keen's wife, meets and falls for Robert Carne, the pair marry, but he has a secret, a love of money, and a habit of murdering women.
I really did enjoy this episode, it felt very different. I wouldn't say the first five episodes have been formulaic, far from it, but they have been procedural Police dramas, this one felt very different, I was reminded of The Edgar Wallace Theatre series.
The cast were great, Ray Barrett was excellent as the villain of the piece. Rosemary Leach equally good as the wife and victim, I was reminded of a performance she gave in one of the Edgar Wallace films, in which she also played a wife in danger.
Well paced and very well acted, not so much full of intrigue, this one has you asking, 'when,' when is he going to try and take his chance.
Mostly focused on the characters, we see virtually nothing of Gideon and his family, truly a character story.
Enjoyed, 8/10.
