- Blanche Devereaux: Oh! Oh, I have never been so embarrassed in my entire life. I made a fool of myself, didn't I?
- Dorothy Petrillo-Zbornak: Yes!
- Blanche Devereaux: Well, I feel awful, just awful!
- Dorothy Petrillo-Zbornak: Listen, if you don't want tonight to turn into a total disaster, you have to stop being so self-conscious.
- Blanche Devereaux: Oh, well you're right, of course. Dr. Newman is a guest in our home. If I'm self-conscious, he'll be ill at ease. I can't allow that to happen. It would be... un-Southern.
- Dorothy Petrillo-Zbornak: That's a good belle.
- Blanche Devereaux: Dorothy, get the door.
- [picks up the tray of hors d'oeuvres and walks through the kitchen door. To Dr. Newman and Rose]
- Blanche Devereaux: Shrimp?
- [keeps walking in a circle so she can go right back in the kitchen]
- Blanche Devereaux: Black? Benjamin wasn't black. He was from New Jersey. I went to my senior prom with a Yankee!
- Dr. Jonathan Newman: Hello, I'm Dr. Jonathan Newman.
- Dorothy Petrillo-Zbornak: Are you absolutely sure?
- Dr. Jonathan Newman: [Rose and Dr Newman are finishing dinner] Well, what did you think?
- Rose Nylund: Oh, it was delicious. I love French food. What was that you had?
- Dr. Jonathan Newman: Trout.
- Rose Nylund: What do they call it in French?
- Dr. Jonathan Newman: Le Trout.
- Dorothy Petrillo-Zbornak: Let's just start dinner.
- Dr. Jonathan Newman: Oh, good, what are we having?
- Dorothy Petrillo-Zbornak: [looks into the kitchen and frowns. Slowly looks back] Short ribs.
- Edgar Lindstrom: There's my little girl!
- Rose Nylund: Daddy? Is that you?
- Blanche Devereaux: Daddy? You mean your *dead* Daddy?
- Dorothy Zbornak: Rose, you see the lengths people have gone to to come to your wedding?
- Edgar Lindstrom: I heard you were getting married and I wanted to meet the lucky guy.
- Rose Nylund: This is so strange, I always thought Daddy was much taller.
- Dorothy Zbornak: Well that's probably because his size didn't matter to you, Rose.
- Blanche Devereaux: When you really love someone, you see them for who they are on the inside.
- Edgar Lindstrom: Well actually girls, Rose is right, I am a lot taller, I just appeared in the dream this way to make a point.
- Rose Nylund: You always did know the right thing to do, Daddy. Do you think I'm doing the right thing marrying Jonathan?
- Edgar Lindstrom: Rose, all you can do is follow your heart. No one can predict what the future holds.
- Rose Nylund: Not necessarily true, Daddy Lindstrom! For you see Rose, one of your wedding guests is none other than famed psychic Jeane Dixon!
