Joust Between Friends (#2.9)

Warning: Spoilers
Dorothy looks for a job during her teaching break time and Blanche gets her to work in the museum. Only she gets jealous when Dorothy gets to do tasks she thought she would. Such as organizing a banquet. Only the banquet is organized for her and Dorothy has to keep it a secret. And Rose finds a dog she brings home until she finds the owner. Only Dorothy doesn't like dogs.

Another good episode. Dorothy is my absolute favorite in this episode. Great acting and great lines. And I love how at the end she cried about the dog leaving! Actually I would say maybe the dog is my favorite character in this episode. Adorable! I also like how Rose talked to him.

Never work with roommates or best friends.

Warning: Spoilers
Dorothy's on a mandatory sabbatical from her job and goes to work with Blanche, causing friction when their boss, Reid Shelton, gives Dorothy the responsibility of arranging a banquet which makes Blanche furious. But there's a twist that Blanche is unaware of, and she quits in a fit of anger. Meanwhile, Rose takes in a lost dog, which makes the supposed dog hating Dorothy just as upset as Blanche. Betty White scores a few extra laughs with her altered voice in speaking on behalf of the pup. Estelle Getty is also funny in her brief exchange with Shelton. It's an episode that is both cute and touching, although Blanche's selfish nature is in overdrive, making her mean and petty towards Dorothy who has her own phony issues with her feelings about dogs. In typical sitcom fashion, everything is tied up neatly even though Blanche really doesn't get the comeuppance she deserves.

When fools rush in.

Dorothy lands a job working in the same office as Blanche, the pair don't quite hit it off, meanwhile Rose adopts a stray dog, much to the annoyance of everyone else at home.

Plenty of conflict here to give this episode a different vibe, yes it's funny, but it's the serious side of it that makes it feel so unique. The characters are so good, they matter so much, that when they fall out it's sad.

Funniest moment had to be the scene between Sophia and Andrew Allen, absolutely hilarious, she so often stole the show.

How cute was Inky The Dog, what a good boy.

It was funny to see Dorothy and Blanche together in a working environment, they're such good friends at home, but the work place is a very different environment, the scenes between the two were terrific.

8/10.
