"Knits to You, Sir" is the first entry of the obscure 1960s series "Good Morning, World". We are introduced to morning disc jockeys David Lewis (Joby Baker) and Larry Clarke (Ronny Schell) who form the morning radio program "Lewis and Clarke" on a small Los Angeles station. The no-nonsense station manager, Roland Hutton, is wonderfully played by Billy De Wolfe. David's wife Linda (Julie Parrish) and their neighbor Sandy Kramer (Goldie Hawn in her acting debut) have a penchant for getting the starring duo in trouble.

"Good Morning, World"'s balanced format of entertainment medium workplace and domestic life has many similarities to that of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and with little surprise. The series was created by revered "Dick Van Dyke" writers Bill Persky and Sam Denoff, and legendary "Dick Van Dyke"producers Carl Reiner and Sheldon Leonard. The series was a showcase for Schell who gained popularity as "Duke" on the hit series "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." , but ran only one season with 26 episodes. The entire series (all 26 episodes) have been released inexpensively to DVD and I recommend it for classic TV fans who want to discover a little-known series.

"Knits to You, Sir" is written by Emmy-Nominated Writer Rick Mittleman, who penned episodes for many of the top programs of the 60s and 70s. It was directed by Carl Reiner. The story centers on a sweater given to David by his wife Linda. The garment is cheaply made and Linda takes it back to the store to return it. They are treated unfeelingly by the store, which unknowingly is a sponsor of their "Lewis and Clarke" radio show. Thus, a great conflict arises for David. The show is a solid entry to the series with clever comedic dialogue. The highlight of this episode is the hilarious situation Roland Hutton, station manger, gets himself into on the phone with the store.
