Paramount wanted to turn 'Joey' into a feature film as a vehicle for Anthony Perkins and hired writer Louis Peterson to adapt his drama. Production plans fell through when producer Robert Emmet Dolan left the studio after thirteen years and took the script with him.
Anthony Perkins got the chance to sing on this drama. A song was needed to fit into he action of the story and he suggested 'Just a Little Love' and his idea was accepted.
