Joanna Pettet and David Janssen made a great team. From The Fugitive in 1966 to Pioneer Woman in 1973 to this, they've always worked well together. This has a somewhat complicated plot but at the heart of it is Harry's loyalty to a friend who was murdered. We follow the trail from San Diego to a small county out in horse country where Harry meets wealthy landowner Glenna Nielson (actress Joanna Pettet) and a whole lot of people who don't want him snooping around. Harry is threatened, beaten up, romanced, and eventually framed for the murder of Glenna's uncle.
There are a few colorful characters – the sheriff, the deputy and a congressman – but it's Harry of course who drives the action and pulls it all together. There's also some great background scenery in this episode. But we'll have to wait for part two to follow Harry's search for justice.
