This is not your typical J & J witty romantic frolic interspersed with the murder of a stranger and eventual acrobatic defense. A young Ed Harris plays a maniacal psychopath and keeps the tension going until the last minute. This eppy may have been a bit too much for regular viewers (I remember seeing this back in 1981 and getting a BIT TOO UNCOMFORTABLE) which probably makes it best that the following week's offering features a a precocious horse trainer kiddo for a Christmas episode.

Beware of the fake pool man

Warning: Spoilers
This is by far my favorite episode - as Jonathan is portrayed throughout as so vulnerable and lost without his vision and perhaps a bit insecure (I love when he is medicated and slurring: "I really do love you", "all I need is you" – pathetically from a payphone to Jennifer). Jennifer has to reassure him that she needs him and that all is well ("nothing could change how I feel about you"). Nice view of the landscape around the "Willowpond" property as Jonathan takes his fateful dip. In the end of course all is well!! Ed Harris rocks as a psychotic lunatic bent on revenge on Jonathan – he is really funny – he totally got into his role!! Body count – 1
RIDICULOUS!!!!

This episode is either a 1 star or 10 stars depending on your mood of the day. I'm having fun with it so i'll give it a 10.
I'm not going to even get into it, but after the part where spikes come out of the eye machine at the hospital and Jennifer says or does NOTHING, and then the rattlesnake is put under Jonathan's food tray and both the Harts say or do NOTHING - I realized you just have to roll with it (what did they do with the rattlesnake btw??).
Ridiculous fun, and Ed Harris plays a fun over the top psycho too!!
