How about a Third Cup of Coffee?
Another hypnosis episode as J&J travel to Boston for Jennifer's prep school reunion. Unfortunately, my local channel left out eight episodes in running these, and one of them was "Hart of Diamonds," where Jennifer is the one who was hypnotized. Since I don't have that one to compare this to, I'm not sure if I'd feel the same way, but I really loved this episode from the word go. Seems an old schoolmate had the hots for Jen and is now obsessed with her, and tries to off Jonathan to have her for himself. This was a big episode, big budget with a lot of good performances in small guest roles. I loved the writing and direction. Like, the very regular, organic conversation between Jonathan and Ford by the coffee station at the reunion. Great writing, better delivery. In fact, the whole exchange between RJ and the guest actor, Kip Niven, was fantastic. RJ turned in a nice performance in this one. And Stefanie owned the room during the climactic scene at the end with Jennifer and Ford. Also enjoyed in a very geeky fangirl kind of way the old high school photo of Stefanie. In case viewers are unaware, we learn that her maiden name is Edwards.
