This is the second part of an odd episode of "Hawaii Five-O". I say odd because the plot seems to really be an excuse to feature a lot of disco tunes, as the show is cashing in on the then-current dance craze. I know that so many folks today hate disco--or at least claim to hate disco. So, if you are NOT a fan of the music, you might just want to skip these two. As for me, however, I like disco--and there are a lot of nice Bee Gees tunes. So, even though they are relatively weak shows, they are well worth seeing and so much better than the average show from season 11 (seasson 11 was abominably weak, so this is not saying much).
When episode one ended, Johny Munroe (James Darren) is tired of the local mob, the Kumu, kicking him around (literally), so he decides to head back to the mainland to get the help of the West Coast mob. This mob already is NOT pleased with the Kumu, as one of the Kumu's men, Ray Santoro, has muscled in on a disco co-owned by the West Coast mob by killing the guy! Needless to say, after Munroe begs, the big man (Nehemiah Persoff) is thrilled to go to Hawaii and start a gang war with the Kumu. The only thing stopping him is McGarrett. But McGarrett is not God and some folks are gonna get hurt or killed before the dust settles.
If you are a Yvonne Elliman fan, then this and part one are Definitely for you as she is prominently featured throughout. However, she doesn't sing her mega-hit "If I Can't Have You". Instead she sings some non-disco tunes including the oddly catchy "I Can't Get You Out of My Mind".
So is this any good? Not especially but it isn't bad...provided you don't hate the music. I will admit, however, that episode one is a bit more interesting and has a bit more action. Not a must-see by any stretch but interesting.
