Not The Beekman

Warning: Spoilers
**SPOILERS** The title refers to a "kinda Kids" show that took over for Mr. Wizard; only was a lot more entertaining. Paul Zaloom, and a small team of a pun-crazy weirdo in a giant rat suit, and a latterday hippie chick do all kinds of neat stuff. ANYWAY, these brothers (Beekman) are in competition for a cheap, peroxide hussy who is playing both ends against the middle. They are waiting for a statute of limitations to run out so they can freely spend the money they took in the holdup - $500 grand.

The one glaring point that just negates all their plotting, is that a friend of Dan's (Broderick Crawford) was shot dead in that robbery, and there is no statute of limitations on homicide, is there? Anyhow, nowhere I ever heard of. The one stupid Beekman is playing with his brothers girlfriend while he's driving, and they manage to strike a little girl with their car. "She ran into the street", was the excuse; well, reason. And they had a point. Problem was the money, and the deadline was the next day. Idiot didn't want to set in jail while his brother could play with fake Blondie. They'd waited three years, but one more day was just gonna be too much, get it? Yup. They're both idiots.

Not that they both couldn't wait; the one brother(I'm not gonna waste time trying to I.D. them), was cool with a little more time, and he didn't really care about the tramp. Brother #2, though, was possessive, and jealous; and that green eyed monster has wrecked a LOT of stories. The mastermind was away at work, sure that the dough would be there.

Again, just WHICH statute of limitations are they talking about? If they can I.D. the moola, then they've pretty much got them tied right into the robbery/murder. It's that way a lot in life. you can have the best plan, right tools, good timing, everything runs smooth, and then you have the IDIOT that manages to pile it up into a bridge support at ninety per.

As I watched it all play out, I wondered if the main guy should have figured on just such an occurrence, and moved the money long before. Then when John Law came calling, there was NO evidence. Later, give both brothers a lesser amount than they thought they had coming, and tell them that it's a fine for being stupid. One other possibility. It's located on a farm, right? What if there was a dry well that two bodies could easily fit down, be covered with limestone gravel, earth and mud;, the plant a tree over it? So long, bothersome brothers. Yeah, even though we all know these things do happen, NOT on a law and order show, right? Naturally, I would never conceive and carry out such a diabolical plot, but it might be interesting to see somebody else get away with it, you know? Then, years later, when the farm had been sold to a developer, they find the remains while digging a foundation for a new house, and then.... okay, I'll shut up. It's pretty good, I'm giving it a 10.
