When Dan Matthews calls dispatch after finding the body of Joe Curran who had been stabbed to death by his brother, he says that Joe was stabbed in the back. Actually Joe's brother, Pete, who was not far away was clearly shown stabbing Joe in the abdomen as he sat in his car. He would've had to have Joe lean forward or turn to his left away from the seat back to have been able to stab him in the back.
In the opening the narrator describes the small town of Lafayette as a small town of just under five-thousand people. The fact that the town has train traffic and a train station and freight warehouses does not fit the profile of a small town of just under five-thousand people. In addition The elaborate train station also would be more suited to a large city rather than a small town.
