Honey and the Hypnotist
bensonmum23 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Honey and Sam are hired by a man accused of industrial espionage. Even though he was caught red-handed (by Honey herself), he has no recollection of committing the crime.

Invitation to Limbo is another good episode. While it's not the best of the bunch, there's plenty to enjoy, including: an intriguing plot, Wayne Rogers, a twist at the end when the baddies are revealed that (sort of) works, and Honey in the steam bath. Things that didn't work as well: Don Frazer is poorly cast as the bad guy, the last scene is utterly ridiculous (even by Honey West standards), and the bad looking Honey stunt double. One more thing that worked for me that I really can't explain is the scene with Honey and the motorcycle cop. There's really not much to it, but I find it horribly enjoyable.

For this episode's Name That Character Actor, I could go with the obvious choice, Wayne Rogers, but I won't. Instead, I'll pick Stacy Harris. If you grew up watching television in the 50s and 60s, you'd know him immediately.

INVITATION TO LIMBO --LUV THAT TITLE.
tcchelsey29 January 2023
One thing about HONEY WEST is that the show employed some of the best directors, such as Tom Gries, who went on to direct BATMAN, among many other cult shows. This episode has its moments.

Honey and Sam take on a case of a corporation that has a someone leaking valuable inside material. Without fail, it comes with some good fight scenes. Honey and super bad guy Wayne Rogers (in an early role) go at it in a dark alley.

Popular actress Louise Troy plays Darlene, a hypnotist. This was no doubt inspired by the hypnotic/mind suggestion craze of the 1960s, frequent entertainment on tv variety shows. Also look for character actor Dan Frazer, who later co-starred as KOJAK's boss. Frazer played both good guys and bad guys, here playing a lethal character with a smirking gal pal --who gets a just karate chop from Honey! I must confess, I took a star off this one as I agree with the last reviewer that you can spot the fake dummy! Stacy Harris also appears as Charlie, best known for his appearances on DRAGNET. If I am not mistaken, Honey is driving down Laurel Canyon Boulevard in the opening scene, not that far from the studio location in Studio City, CA. The difference today is more apartment buildings and condos! SEASON 1 EPISODE 14. Get the dvd box set.

Invitation to Limbo
Prismark106 March 2022
Honey and Sam are hired to deal with industrial espionage. Someone in a company has been leaking secrets to a rival.

That man seems to be Charlie Kenyon who is caught out by Honey and Sam. He even tries to strangle Honey but later has no recollection.

Honey thinks that Charlie might have been set up and it brings them to take a close interest in a club with a hypnotist stage act. Hypnotism has been used for nefarious means.

Someone else has taken an interest in Honey. They blow up her car, a good job that a cop stopped her for speeding.

Very much a routine adventure with Sam using his gadgets and Honey keeping things steamy.

Fans of 1970s television will recognise the henchman played by Wayne Rogers. An executive kept in the dark played by Dan Frazer.
