Doug McClure is the guest star in this In The Heat Of The Night story. McClure
plays a millionaire contractor who is building a small mall which in job hungry
Sparta will bring a lot of jobs. A little girl finds some African artifacts on the
site and it was at one time a plantation before General Sherman swept through
the area.
When Denise Nicholas here's of it she brings in anthropologists to see if the place could be declared a historic landmark. That causes a lot of bad feelings among the city fathers even some of her black colleagues on the city council are leery of shutting the place down knowing the economic benefits the mall will bring.
McClure has other problems. He's a randy old dude who is living in sin with Amy Hess who is barely put of her teens. Her blood relations don't approve and that causes more problems for McClure than anything else.
Sex and politics combine interestingly in this story.
