This episode shows the Leader with hair for the last time due to the energy siphon experiment. In all subsequent episodes, he has a bald more bulbous head which is also very similar to how the Leader looked in his guest appearance with the Hulk on the "Iron Man (1994)" series episode Hulk Buster (1996).
The Outsiders, a group of desert creatures that were also effected by the Gamma Reactor explosion that created the Hulk, aide and befriend Bruce Banner/Hulk who introduces them to Rick Jones and Betty Ross. In their "The Incredible Hulk" (Vol. 1) #329 comic book appearance, the Outsiders actually befriended Rick Jones/Hulk who in turn introduced them to Bruce Banner.
In this episode, the Hulkbusters are officially formed by General Ross.
None of the Outcasts are given names except for the Scorpion who Rick Jones refers to as Scorps. In the comics, the rodent is called Eeek, the Lizard is a gila monster named Gil, the bat is Kir, the Scorpion is Sting, the vulture is Vult, and the rattlesnake is their leader Rattilore. The comic book version of the Outcasts are able to speak, however the animated ones maintain their animalistic nature and do not speak any human language.
