It is the one that got away for Inspector Duval.
At an Interpol conference in Montreal. Duval is with Canadian Mountie Bonnier who introduces him to prominent businessman Vic LeRoy.
He is a close friend of Bonnier's sister. However Duval recognises him as a murderer who he had arrested in France for murder in 1939. However LeRoy escaped custody.
Bonnier is having none of it. Photographs of both men are unconvincing. Duval knows that LeRoy had a distinctive tattoo in his right arm. This man has a false right arm. He claimed he lost it in an accident at a lumberyard.
Duval needs to convince Bonnier that LeRoy is not what he claims to be. Before long Duval is nearly run over then a tattooist is found strangled. A man who once tried to remove a tattoo.
It was good to see Duval playing cat and mouse from a face from the past. He has to deal with a sceptical Bonnier. Maybe LeRoy should has just left town quickly.
