This original title was Insights, after the story's central theme. Michael is taught by Julie not to judge everything by looks alone, and in turn gives her an insight into how her stubbornly independent behavior "looks" to others.
K.I.T.T.'s uncharacteristic grouchiness here was to have been paid off much more dramatically in earlier versions of the script. Cornering Gastner in a dead-end alley in his wreckers' yard, K.I.T.T. edges menacingly forward as if to crush him. He relents however, leaving a court of law to administer justice for Gastner's crimes against humans and automobiles.
The dog is a Golden Retriever named Sugar.
KITT uses his trajectory guide to escape from the car crusher. However, the season finale episode Big Iron "introduced" this function. Big Iron should have taken place before this episode.
The crusher originally fell apart in the first draft of the script, unable to crush K.I.T.T.'s Molecular Bonded Shell.
