So Contrived
Hitchcoc6 January 2024
When one looks at Boston Legal and The Practice and other lawyer shows that have ensued, we can that at this point this show is a mess. The writers use the lowest common denominator. We have a guy who uses his injured stepson to pay off his gambling debts, a kidnapping of one of the lawyer's little boys, a partner trying to get the Hispanic new guy to marry his housekeeper so she can avoid immigration, and Harry Hamlin continuing his stalking of Susan Dey. Oh, and then there is William Macy who is being sued by the IRS for playing fast and loose with deductions involving his stripper girlfriend. Too much humor and not enough case.

Hulu's version is NOT remastered
toddperwin11 November 2023
I started watching "LA Law" on Hulu, and for the most part I am very pleased with how this show was remastered. However, episode 3 of the first season looks wrong, as if it was upscaled from the original 4:3 SD broadcast master and then zoomed in to fill a 16:9 frame. The image is overly soft, the framing is cramped, the colors are muted, and the episode is full of upscaling artifacts. The episode shares many of the same video imperfections that the 4:3 SD version on Prime Video suffers from. This episode sticks out like a sore thumb, and that is a shame. Makes one wonder if the original camera masters for this episode have been lost.
