Who are the good guys again, please? Warning: Spoilers
Note: I normally keep my spoilers very low in order of "not spoiling" the main surprises in the plot, nevertheless, to make this one more interesting, I will reveal some things that happen later in the story, but it will be in a very generic way, so, unless you want to see the complete story first-hand, you can read without worrying.

After being accused, condemned and imprisoned for a crime she did not commit, LA FEMME NIKITA (our heroine in this story) is given the chance to work for a secret agency, allegedly dedicated to fight terrorism world-wide. Nikita is a strong but very sensitive and slightly childish woman. She is not naive but she tends to trust people too much because she wants to believe in them. These and many other characteristics both in Nikita and some of her friends like Walter (their weaponry expert), the computer genius Seymour Birkoff, and some others that she gets to know along the series gave us some very rich and surprising episodes.

One constant that we will see along the series is that we will see Nikita or another character be allowed to have a small amount of happiness or even just a small illusion just to be smashed some minutes later, all this normally planned by this organization, Section 1, itself. We will see so many things like this that we often ask ourselves: how different are these people from the actual bad guys? We can even see a sadistic note in the intentions of those that in theory are the good guys.So who are the good guys again, please? Because, even when it is understandable that an anti-terrorism organization fight fire with fire against their enemies, this organization treats their own people with so much cruelty that makes us ask how good is the medicine compared to the disease.

This kind of contradictions and paradoxes make this series interesting all along with a great variety of characters in a variety of environments and this episode is undoubtedly a good example of what we can expect later in the story. We will also enjoy seeing some characters changing along the way as they ascend in the organization and become more like, or unlike, the people who recruited them and trained them.

Thanks for reading.
