Season two of LOTG came in with new clothes by Irwin Allen who provide some changes like new openning credits, news dress for some characters, news props like the laser gun and a device like a periscope handling, the story start in same street where shot "The Chase" near the harbor, was invited a famous actor as Broderick Crawford to start with right foot the openning episode, but somehow with the usual results, Heather Young was pregnat and had to stay covered on Spaceship, even so it bring great momories for my childhood in 1971!!

The giants are suddenly advanced enough to build a mechanical man?

Any follower of Irwin Allen TV sci-fi will know that Irwin shows begin with great season openers. So why is "The Mechanical Sleep Walking Man" the season opener for season two? It was not the first episode filmed!

This would have to be the most half-baked Irwin sci-fi hour I can think of!

Where is the lab that created this mechanical man? Normally we would see a room full of blinking light computers to create the feeling that some science fiction was going on...instead we get some tiny run down little room with almost no hardware to be seen??

We are meant to have some feeling towards "The Sleep Walking Man" because he saves Barry's dog from quicksand...does anyone feel anything towards this robot?

This hour is worth a look for the wonderful Richard LaSalle score and the funny bit where Fitz gets on the drink...but don't expect too much from this one. Thankfully this is NOT a taste of things to come...season two has many wonderful adventures.
