Frank DeFazio : I booked the church a month ago, and I've been waiting for the right moment to ask Edna.
Laverne DeFazio : Well, the right moment was a month ago. I mean, you gotta ask her, pop. You can't hold a surprise wedding.
Frank DeFazio : Yeah, you're right. I'll slip a note under her door tonight.

[referring to when they were talking through tin cans on a string]

[kneeling down]
Frank DeFazio : . You know, I ain't romantic. I get mixed up a lot of the time and I talk, and uh. But, one thing I know very much. I love you. Understand, and uh, then there's a lotta other words that go with it, but I don't know what they are. But I know at the end it's going to be only one thing, is I want to marry you, okay?
Edna Babish DeFazio : Oh, Frank. Those are the prettiest words I never heard. And yes, I would like very much to be your wife.
[pause while the audience applauds]
Edna Babish DeFazio : I'll marry you tonight.
Frank DeFazio : Na, na, na, na, na. Saturday. Tonight, we can pretend.
