James "Grizzly" Adams(Dan Haggerty) must come to the defense of his good friend Ben the bear after the poor guy is falsely accused of stealing a bucket of fish from a tribal fishing expedition, which is a serious crime in their tribe. The real culprit is a young tribal boy who was trying to hide his poor catch, but didn't mean to implicate Ben. Adams must convince this boy to confess his involvement in order to save Ben from possible banishment, which will affect Adams as well since he'll leave with him... Though the plot may sound thin, this is really an interesting and revealing look at the character of Adams, whose respect for the rights of Native American tribes is so great he wont fight their judgment of Ben, but instead share it, admitting he is a guest on their land(A minority opinion at the time sadly...)
