Quotes

  • [first lines]

Jessica : Is it ever going to stop raining?

Logan : Not soon enough to help us, I'm afraid.

Rem : How are the solar reserves?

Logan : They're low - just a few minutes power left. We'll have to stop and wait for the sun.

  • Logan : You all right?

    Jessica : I'm just cold, that's all.

Rem : You'd think whoever built human beings would take extremes in temperature into account.

  • Jessica : Logan, look at that house! I've never seen anything like it.

Logan : Just as long as it's dry inside.

Rem : And the people are friendly.

  • Gavin : Do you believe only in what is or do you also believe in what might be?

Logan : I believe in questioning what is... and then deciding.

    Gavin : And you.

Rem : In my case I assure you that one and one always add up to two.

Jessica : I think I believe in what might be; that things aren't always what they seem. Our lives changed because we believed in what might be. We ran from something that was to something that might be.

  • Logan : All those years back in the City of Domes, I never cared about anyone... and now it's like we've always been together. That's a funny feeling - to worry about someone other than myself.

Jessica : I guess those feelings are hard to put into words.

Logan : Especially if you can't find the right words.

Jessica : What words are you looking for?

Logan : Caring... needing... wanting to be with someone...

    Jessica : That's good enough.

    [they kiss]

  • Gavin : We offer you eternal peace, Jessica. It's better than life - it has no ending.

Jessica : No. You offer death, nothing more!

Gavin : No, not death, but a life between. No pain, no sorrow - just a calm, serene eternity of beauty.

  • Logan : It's over, Jessica. They're gone now.

    Jessica : Gone?

Rem : Back to whatever peace they can find with their Prince of Darkness... which is mighty little I would suspect.

  • [last lines]

Jessica : I still don't understand any of it.

Rem : It all goes back to the time before the holocaust when people believed blindly in the concept of God and the Devil - one promising ultimate good and the other ultimate evil.

Jessica : Why would anyone choose evil?

Rem : Oh, evil often comes in the most attractive package. The trick is to recognize that and never open the package.

Jessica : It isn't easy being human is it?

Logan : Considering the alternatives, I'll settle for what I am.

Rem : I'd like to remind you, my dear Logan, that I'm one of the alternatives... but since we can't all be androids, I guess we'll have to put up with what we are.
