I LOVED this show when it first aired, and I am enjoying it EVEN MORE watching it a 2nd time, but I have to review this episode and call it out for its HORRIBLE writing. TWICE Clark had a chance to stop the 'assasin' and could have EASILY done it without giving up that he was Superman but he let the guy go.
So the plot is this master of disguise assasin was hired to kill someone, and Lois was witness. So first off, the assasin was in disguise so Lois could not identify him. His TRUE face was never seen by Lois yet for (poor writing) reasons, he felt she COULD identify him, even though he never removed his make up.
Then he tries to off Lois by disguissing himself as a cripple in a wheelchair and tried to gun Lois and Clark down in the middlel of the street. Though only a few feet away from them, after Superman (as Clark) catches all the bullets, he 'blinks' and suddenly the assasin (who has no powers) vanishes. Clark, in spite of super vision cannot find him. OK FINE, flimsy as heck but maaaaybe.
Second attemp on Lois he disguises himself as Lois's superintendant and enters her appartment to gun her down, Lois defends herself as well as she can but he manages to get the better of her but has lost his gun and decided to strangle her. Enter Clark who, threatens him. He then runs away (through the door Clark entred) and (even though Lois was choaked unconscious) Clark lets him go when he could have easily knocked him out then go to help Lois in the same amount of time it would have taken anyway. But NO, he gets away again.
Superman finally gets the bad guy but the writing could have been a little better in those two spots.
