Young Tommy Righter is upset about a new school being built in his growing town. He sees no need for "book larnin." Tommy and his loyal dog Scoots have no intention of attending. But when two bad outlaws, Jed and Lew Cates, disguise themselves as Indians and steal the money collected to build the school, it's Tommy and Scoots who go in hot pursuit. The sheriff is an incompetent fool who first accuses Tonto of the crime and then leads the posse in the wrong direction. When Tommy and Scoots find the outlaws, they wound Scoots in the leg and kidnap Tommy. But the intrepid Scoots continues to follow them and eventually helps The Ranger and Tonto find Tommy. The outlaws have a big head start. Can our heroes save Tommy and Scoots and still catch the bad guys? Lee Aaker plays Tommy. In a couple of years, he would play Rusty in the kids TV show, "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin." But Scoots is the star and hero of this episode.
