Warning: Spoilers
We get more footage of the Port of Los Angeles. Holy cow. This is Michelle Lee's third appearance this season. She won't appear again until the 5th season. The Captain is right on that piece of meat. Lee plays a housewife impersonating a socialite. She's especially fun and bouncy here. Paul Williams! In addition to being a pop culture legend, he's the lyricist behind The Love Boat theme. He's come on board the Pacific Princess in order to find a girl. He's got to get married in order to get his inheritance. Julie wants some of the small guy's Oscar, if you know what I mean. Dick Gautier is a chavunist, who's brought along his girl, played by Barbara Rhoades. Both of them were regulars on Match Game. Her character has had enough. Doc volunteers his own cabin. When the big guy comes looking for her, Doc takes one for the team. Marcia Wallace is a reporter, sailing to get a story on the swinging stories of the high seas. 'This is really disgusting stuff. I love it.' I love Marcia Wallace actually. She would appear on both Tattletales and Match Game. 'I wonder if Harold Robbins started like this,' she says. This is one where the various subplots intersect, and that's fun. On Kafka's Love Boat Scale, this gets 3 * out of a possible 4 *.
