How to End Infatuation
catnipper4030 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen this episode a couple of times. All three plots were great, but the scene where Doc tries to let down Jennifer easy was TRULY wonderful. I can only imagine how difficult this infatuation was for Doc. Whoever wrote these lines --well, a big THANK YOU to them.

I think anyone in this type of situation should watch this episode for advice.

Jimmie's Ghost Blinks In For a A Bit
WalterKafka16 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Ok. This is the one where Jimmie Walker plays a wisecracking ghost. He's the dead husband of Vernee Watson. She's the only one who can see him. He wants her to find a new guy. She's not ready to move on. It's such a goofy idea. I love it. 'You know, the Ghost's union, we don't do bags,' Jimmie says. Maybe handsome Greg Morris is a good fit for her. Melissa Sue Anderson is a young woman - Gopher's sister - with eyes for Doc. 'Your sister has turned into a real stunner,' Captain Stubing says. Boy oh boy, this can't be legal. I love the way that Jimmie Walker mangles the English language. Jamie Lee Curtis is unhappy with her man. She'd rather read 'Executive Trash' in bed. Was that by Harold Robbins? This episode aired on Nov 11 1978. Halloween had just been released the previous month. Her mother, Janet Leigh, is here too. The stars of The Fog are setting sail. Oh yeah. Conrad Bain is here as Jamie's father. Janet and Conrad get stuck in a room and have to work out their problems. They're going to have to ration those peanuts. Isaac has just created a new drink, 'The Isaac Eye Opener.' This one's a lot of fun. On Kafka's Love Boat Scale, this gets 3 1/2 * out of a possible 4 *.

Till Boredom Do Us Part
myronlearn9 December 2021
One of the worst written episodes of the entire series. Ironically, it took 6 so-called writers to put this mess of a script together. There are literally five (5) ' What are you doing here?' utterances in the first five minutes. It's downhill from there. The guest stars must have either needed the money or wanted the publicity. 'The Love Boat' while extremely successful, was never known for its profound drama or comedy.

By and large, it's a simple show with many plots making up each hour. This particular one, though, ranks as one of the worst.
