In the opening sequence in the O.R., when Frank Burns criticizes Major Houlihan's boyfriend Donald Penobscott for his inability to commit to marrying her, he (Burns) says "No ring, no wedding date." However, earlier in the same season, when Margaret returns from Tokyo, she shows Burns the engagement ring that Penobscott had given her.
At the end of the episode Frank mentions Margaret being in the Army 18 years. In the episode "Change of Command " Colonel Potter when reading Margaret's records says "10 years, spotless record ". If Frank was correct, Margaret joined the Army in 1933.
