Fey, funny and got a genuine LOL from me

Warning: Spoilers
All right, I know I'm biased. Maverick was one of my favorite shows when it started - when I was about 4 or 5 years old.

This episode is right up there with the best of their forays into humor. I'm sorry the other reviewer was so offended. I'm from a minority group as well, and even if they placed the story within my group, I couldn't be offended.

Drawing on the folklore of the Irish, this story is a sparkling mixture of "is it real" or "is it a dream?" Everyone did their part wonderfully with the fabulous Mickey Shaughnessy as the central character of the mayhem. (How is "Shaughnessy" an Irish stereotype? He IS Irish, after all.) Give this episode a chance, and I'll bet you'll enjoy it as much as I have. This one is going into the "keeper" file.

Maverick: Mr. Muldoon's Partner

"Mr. Muldoon's Partner" - Bart encounters a leprechaun. It is the next to last episode, and Maverick is now high comedy. The leprechaun is Mr. Muldoon, and he pops out of a bottle. He is 543 years old and speaks of himself in the third person. Bart is granted 5 wishes, the first of which is for money. Bart gets his money, but with strings attached. It is stolen. We learn that it is the unselfish wish that works out for the best, something that should come as no surprise. Janet Lake is bad girl Bonnie Shea and helps Bart's opponent cheat at cards. Maverick women dressed to the nines, long full dresses covering everything. Period costumes! This supernatural episode reminded me of "The Witch Of Hound Dog."

Awful Do not waste your time on this.

Warning: Spoilers
Just as the summary indicates this episode is awful. It involves Bart (Jack Kelly) and a lot of pseudo-Irish stereotypical characters.

This would offend most other minority groups if it were directed at them but I guess Irish must put up with this kind of malarkey. (Sorry) Anyhow this involves possible leprechauns and Bart's grasp of reality or hallucinations, whichever I guess the viewer decides after suffering through this thing. I cannot convey how terrible this thing is. It is the worst of the Maverick episodes that I have seen. Critics have indicated that the last couple years the writing, direction and the production values had declined. They declined all the way to the bottom on this one. I checked spoiler in writing this, but it is so bad that there is really nothing to spoil. Thomas J McKeon
