So, as the curtain rings down on this great American TV series, we get some good adventure and teamwork in this outing.
After Martin Landau and Barbara Bain left MI at the end of Season 3, the ratings took a dip. Leonard Nimoy came on board for Seasons 4 and 5 to in effect take the Landau role of the disguise master and, frequently, the ringer who infiltrates the bad guys. In Season 4 we had no consistent female agent; in season 5 there was Lesley Ann Warren. Each of these chapters in MI history had their own merits. For Seasons 6 and 7, we had a core team of Jim, Barney, Willy and Casey, the beautiful Texan Lynda Day George. I have a lot of fondness for that final team! Without someone like Landau or Nimoy on the team, frankly Jim and Barney were even more crucial to the stories, which was fine with me. Lynda was tops. Dean Stockwell does a good guest turn here; nice exterior scenes; engrossing race against time plot. Another satisfying winner from one of the all time greatest TV series.
