It's city slickers vs. Small town hicksters, and the efforts to get a big story involving the affair of a powerful senator, going out of their way to get the rights to the video tape anyway they can. This seemingly perfect small town family has plenty of their own oddities, including a son who is afraid of chairs and another who accepts a rock from Murphy's back, thinking it's from the moon. They are desperate to get the story on the air before the Smith family can sell it to another network which results in some amusing moments.
